The 4th generation of the Intel Core processor family offers the possibility of an all-day battery life in thin, lightweight systems, giving users a device that can stay with them at all times.
Built, like their predecessors, with Intel's 22-nanometer (nm) 3-D Tri-Gate transistor technology, they deliver performance that is 35% faster compared to the previous generation and are ideal for activities such as overclocking.
"Thanks to the new generation of Intel Core processors, we'll no longer need to worry about charging our devices, whether we're using them for video games or watching HD videos — battery life now extends up to nine hours," said Germán Loureiro (photo), Field Application Engineer for Intel Southern Cone.

The 4th generation of Intel Core processors brings the following new features for users:
- New, fast Intel Quick Sync Video technology.
- Fast JPEG & MPEG decoding.
- API Support: DX11.1, OpenCL 1.2, OpenGL 4.0.
- Intel Iris Pro Graphics and Intel Iris Graphics.
- Twice the bandwidth with DisplayPort 1.2.
The 4th generation of Intel Core family processors was designed to give users greater power to simultaneously run different applications for gaming, creating, and enjoying high-quality graphics. Their power consumption is 20 times lower than their predecessors, keeping data secure on a device weighing less than 1.3 kg — about the same as a 1.25-liter bottle of mineral water.
When comparing computers over three years old to Ultrabooks with 4th generation Intel Core processors, differences in weight become clear, since older notebooks are 50% heavier than Ultrabooks, which don't exceed 1.6 kg. In addition, the new devices feature built-in security, full-screen touch, and are convertible or detachable.
"We're rolling out the new generation of Intel processors worldwide, designed to significantly improve the user experience. The 4th generation of Intel Core processors strengthens the combination of desktop computer performance with the mobility benefits of a tablet, taking 2-in-1 devices to the next level — devices that will be key to renewing the existing installed base of computers," said Elizabeth Moncada, Consumer Manager for Intel Southern Cone.
With the new generation of Ultrabooks powered by 4th generation Intel Core processors, it's now possible to watch HD video continuously for six to nine hours — six hours more than any four-year-old device.
At the presentation held at Intel Argentina's offices, there were demonstrations of the new processors in action, including computers set up for video conversion that showcased the power of the new generation versus the previous one, in a side-by-side machine setup.
There was also an overclocking segment using liquid nitrogen, along with a performance demonstration of the latest games.
